Marine Drive - Nostalgia at its BEST..!

Well,Initially it is difficult to choose “1” Place in MUMBAI which is close to my heart or which I can say Yes, “The so & so Place is my Favorite.”

Coming to the Point .. Few Days back one of my friend asked me, “Which is the most Favorite Place of mine in Mumbai?” .. Actually,I avoided to answer it or rather I refused to answer it coz I was sure,My Answer wudnt include just one Place .. I Have Loved Mumbai as a whole Unit,I like it the way it is (Whether Good or Bad :P) and I still do .. The city has surely molded & added its touch 2 ma personality. :P

Unfortunately,My Friend was not in a mood to spare me and he forced me to answer it .. So There it Goes,My Reply to him was – ♥ MARINE DRIVE ♥ a.k.a. ♥ Queen's Necklace ♥

And Now the Big Question,Why?

Long Back in 2006,I guess? I was at Marine Drive around 5.30 in the morning.

Well,I saw the first pinkish rays of the sun falling over the waters of the Arabian Sea .. The surface was pinkish like someone has put pink jelly on the top of the sea .. What a majestic sight it was! .. Early joggers having their run .. blissful and peaceful night giving way to noisy day .. It was Nonetheless , “A Love at First Sight” .. And After that there was no stopping me,I have visited that place more often than you guyz can imagine during my Junior College Years .. Yes,Offcourse Not around 5.30 in the morning though :P

South Mumbai,Glamour,Chicks,Traffic,Awesome Crowd,Dreams,Desires etc etc .. But For me, its the place where i cud simply connect to 'ME' .. More importantly its the place that inspires me .. Inspires me to be myself..!

Marine drive is definitely a place where i cud just walk on the promenade with breeze n the waves of the sea being my companions.
So many Memories associated with this place .. I have been there when I was bit low & even when I was bit high :p … Well,I guess Everyone have got the answer by now,why it is the one of my favorite place.

A Journey Worth a LIFETIME!!! ... An Excursion to Delhi-Shimla-Agra :)

Everything was SET!!! … A Month Long Planning,and everyone was effin Excited for some SNOW this Time … Couple Of Days before the pre planned date for an excursion to Delhi-Shimla-Manali,The Two Assholes(Ashu n Omi) Started doing Nakhras As Usual and Screwed the whole thing Royally… Nothing Started According to the Plan and Nothing Ended as per the Plan :P .. But,As They Say “ Unplanned Things Creates Beutiful Memories ” .. This was True this Time.

Day 1 : Journey Begins

A 20 Hour Journey From Mumbai to Delhi On Paper seemed to be Boring,but the Truth is it wasnt … A Tight Sleep , some Card Games , Loads of Chit chats and there we Reach Delhi.

Day 2 : More Travelling (Delhi -Kalka-Shimla)

We Reached Hazrat Nizamuddin Station around 6 in the evening .. The Next Journey was from Old Delhi to Kalka ... Another Overnight Chilly Journey … We Reached Kalka around 5 in the Morning(The Real Fun Begins here onwards)

Day 3 : Kalka to Shimla ( A Toy Train Experience )

The great journey through tunnels of darkness with a small light at the other end always beckoning you.....The narrow-standard Kalka Shimla Railway, which runs around 60 miles means 96 km and has approx 100 tunnels and 95 Bridges … Absolutely Scenic and Beutiful Toy Train Journey.

After Around 4 hours u reached the promised destination -SHIMLA!!! … As soon as u enter shimla,our eyes get stuck to the Beutiful Mountains Covered with snow And soon we try to adjust ourselves with the lowering Temperature …

The later Half of the Day is spent on MALL ROAD … Yes,Mall Road … As the Name Suggests,its the Road which give us the essence of Malls in the cities … You will find each and every Indian & Imported Brand here on this road with a Heavy Discounts throughtout the Year … The Shoppers paradise :)

While you are busy in Window Shopping,u will soon realise the Temperature is dropping further quickly and in no time it becomes untolerable and you rush towards your hotel n try to cover yourself with whatever you got with you.

PS : - I was continously Shivering and almost needed an hour to adjust with 1 or 2 degree temp.

Day 4 : The Actual Snowy Day (Kufri-Fagu-Green Valley-Chini Bunglow-Apple Garden-Naldehra)

KUFRI :
Kufri is located arnd 15 KM frm Simla and is the Highest Point around Shimla. If visiting Shimla one should not avoid this place specially when there is no snow in Shimla you can find it in Kufri.

GREEN VALLEY :
Green Valley is on d way 2 Kufri frm Shimla. Its a beautiful scenic view of deep valley just ahead of Chail but not too far from Kufri. Have you car halt to breath and see the beauty of deodhar trees with Fresh Air coming from green valley.

Tourist Car n vehicles r seen stopping at green valley for view and food.

You will find lots of monkeys on the road. Enjoy Tasty Chaat and Noodles on Green Valley.

PS :- Try Go Karting @Kufri ... It is really Awesome n Thrilling

Day 5 : A Sudden Change In Plan

The Original Plan on Day 5 was to Move to Manali via Kullu ... But,The Temperature was dropping further and it was bit difficult to survive further with the fall in Temperature ... So,we decided to move back to Delhi ... And thus,Day 5 Starts in Delhi.

It was a MATCH DAY!!! ... So basically,every other thing was on Halt for the time being as Manchester United was suppose to Play @Stamford Bridge ... And noy a boy,what a Comeback it was :) ... Day 5 Ended on a very High Note and then we decided to visit The Taj Mahal on Next Day,which was originally not in our Plan.

Day 6 : The Taj Mahal ( Symbol of Eternal LOVE )

As Taj Mahal wasnt on our wish List,our Day 6 Started Horribly ... We were Suppose to catch a Train with General Ticket and thus No Need to Explain Further ... The Following Pic will describe our condition the best :P

   As soon as we got a Glimpse of The Taj,every thing was forgotten n we were eye struck for few moments ... Aaahhh!!! ... what a beauty it was ... A Breath Taking Moment!!!

   Moving Back to Delhi,This time we decided to Travel By Road & This was probably the only worst decision till now throughout the journey.The Bus took effin 7 and half hours to reach delhi for the journey of 3 Hours n we were Frustrated like Hell :( ... Finally,we reached Delhi and had a tight sleep.

Day 7 : Delhi-Local Sightseeing

    Well,we were having Plenty Of Options for Local Sightseeing like Volvo Buses,Private Cars,Public Transport etc etc ... But,to make it more Interesting,we Hired an Auto Rickshaw.And to be Honest,It was the Real Fun. We Visited RajGhat,RedFort,Qutub Minar,Lotus Temple,Rashtrapati Bhavan,India Gate by Rickshaw. I Must Say,Delhi is one hell of a Big City and Maintained Beutifully.

Day 8 : Reserved For Shopping

Shopping in Delhi is 1 of d most pleasurable & Xciting xperiences among shoppin freaks. The 3 major shopping spots in Delhi r Cannought Palace, Karol Bagh & Chandni Chowk Markets.
              I Must say,Sujit was on Fire on that day ... He just couldnt resist the highly discounted Brands and was totally on fire :P

Day 9 :
   BACK to MUMBAI!!!

EPILOGUE :

             This 10 Days Of my LIFE ( Full of Fun,Thrill,Excitement,Risk,Adventure etc ) which Probably I can remember till Eternity ... Sujit m glad v made it n v made it Super-Successful :)

Mum‘‘BYE" to Pune ..!!!

Whether rains o' storms, whether blasts or floods…u can’t take away d spirit of Mumbai frm a Mumbaikar…after all ‘Yeh hai Mumbai meri jaan’ .. The city has surely molded & added its touch 2 ma personality. :P … And ever since I stepped in 2 d ‘TEENAGE PHASE ’ of lyf , I had made 1 thing very clear →‘‘ NO College OUT OF MUMBAI ” .. After studying hard during my junior college years,Leaving Mumbai was never given a Thought … But,der was something else written in my destiny.

I Got Admission in Pune n all those yrs of thinkin dat I won’t step out of Mumbai wer all gone in a second :( … So decided 2 move 2 pune - To explore Oxford of d east,wid Hopes & Xcitment abt the happening place called PUNE .. And so der it was ,‘‘I bcame A ‘PUNEKAR’ frm A ‘MUMBAIKAR’. ”

The initial days in Pune were total haze (now if I look back!) .. Anyway, d 1st thing i shud tel abt pune is d climate .. Yeah,d climate is cool n not @ all humid lyk mumbai .. But then..my problems started..with d new city soon….!!!

The Rickshaws in Pune r another story altogether & just as sum1 has written on d ‘Dabbawalas in Mumbai’ (In praise) , I wud definitely want 2 write on d ‘Rickshaw-walas in Pune’ (offcourse with all d hatred I can utter).

The 2 Wheeler Funda :- Being a Mumbaikar, der was never a need 2 learn d 2-wheeler, thanks 2 d Wonderful Public Transport System in Mumbai, but What 2 do, Pune is different frm Mumbai na! ’ :P here d scene was totally diff .. Every 2nd person byond d age of 18 was on 2-wheeler .. Every 2nd driver resembled a terrorist wid der faces covered byond recognition, wid only their eyes exposed (dat 2 covered wid sunglasses).

Another difficult aspect in Pune was gettin used 2 d “ Shuddha Marathi ” here .. I was quite familiar wid Marathi but here I was left speechless at der pure language .. I kept fumbling 4 words n den either shifted 2 English or Hindi.

The 3rd n d most difficult thing of Pune was d mentality of d people here, Wherever I went, d only sentence I heard was ‘U must understand dat Pune is different frm Mumbai’, LOL!!!

Moving On,The city was lyk a quiet place wid only limited options 2 hangout and enjoy …
Three roads are the heart and soul of this city(Considered :P)
1- MG Road
2- FC Road
3- JM Road…

But lemme tell .. u can find such places e1 in mumbai suburbs .. The shops shutter goes down as early as 8:45 or 9 pm. :( [Too Early,Isn't It ??? xD]

Getting Used to :

Getting used 2 all dis things, it’s nw almost been more dan 3 years since I left Mumbai. I do keep visiting Mumbai regularly & wen I do, d regular shopping places r yet visited e1 2 buy d smallest of small things whch u wud get e1 in Pune, but I guess, it’s juz a matter of gettin used 2 a city.

I got a bike .. so dat i dont need 2 face d “ KINGS ”(Auto Drivers :P)

The climate is very vel suited 2 me…I enjoy d winter here whch I was unable 2 do in mumbai coz of humidity(unlucky fellas)…The chilling nyts n roaming on bike … u vil b smoking widout a cigarette…Its AWESOME!!!

Finally, I stopped grunting on things whch i don’t find done in a mumbai way :P

After facin many such small problems ,i finally got accustomed to pune’s life style .. Life is so slow here .. I Get up late..Sleep late..Eat late..Work late..Break signals :P :D

Pune!!! Inspite of all its differences, has a lot dat I won’t get in Mumbai .. Every city has its Ups & Downs n though I hav been a Punekar 4 d last 3 years, I myt yet b very partial 2 Mumbai, but dis city n its lyfstyle has surely affected me and my life .. It is truly said that “ Home is where the heart is “ & Pune seems like a home now..!!!

The Dream which I Dream even in my Dreams ...!

OLD TRAFFORD - THE MECCA OF FOOTBALL

A Weekend … What comes to ur mind wen u think of a weekend ??? .. Well May be .. Movies,Music,Parties,Shopping etc etc … In my case, Itz Totally different .. For Me,Weekend is Nothing but the Football,And When I Think of football it has to be MANCHESTER UNITED .. After a Hectic Long Week,i wait for a weekend just to see my favorite team play ,i.e MANCHESTER UNITED !!! .. Itz kinda a Date :P,Yes it may sound weird,but thats a fact .. MUFC - One Love !!!

I manipulate anything and everything — FAMILY,FRIENDS,STUDIES,WORK — to be in front of the television,To watch the Devils Play . :)

I have been following MANCHESTER UNITED Week In Week Out for almost 7-8 Years now ... Just as each one of you, ever since I started following United religiously, I had a dream of visiting “ Old Trafford – The Theatre Of Dreams ” at least once in my lifetime.

All my life the Red Dream is a painted picture in my head .. Old Trafford , 70000 odd Fans, Roar of Relief , A huge scream of relief,Chanting my lungs out ,Rattling the stadiums super structure etc etc etc ...

“ The very thought of me living my dream one day gives me GOOSEBUMPS .”

As an Indian far away from Old Trafford ,, Attending United matches isn’t exactly an option .. :(

I have watched most of the United games alone in my living room, or in some random cafes packed with people who either hate United, or who “kind of” support United, simply sharing in the cocktail of nerves, excitement, anticipation and sheer impatience … but whatever it is, is worth treasuring in itself .. And Deep down in my heart,i always think ,wish I was at OLD TRAFFORD ryt now .

Couple of Years Back ,I was introduced to MANCHESTER UNITED FAN CLUB - MUMBAI , and trust me,It is the Best thing ever happened to me … It is the closest thing a UTD Fan here cud ever get … A surreal Stadium Experience with Chanting,Screaming and what not ... And Now a dayz,as I am not in Mumbai ,I always look forward with the newly formed MANCHESTER UNITED FAN CLUB - PUNE .. Well,Watching MAN UTD with hundreds of fans sounds Awesome ryt ? n now Imagine,How wud it feel to watch it Live,Along with another 70,000 odd fans at OLD TRAFFORD ...!!!

My one wish in life is visitng Old Trafford on my own terms and catching a match LIVE! possibly a UEFACL match and noy o boy! what an experience that wud be! To be with the most fanatic 75000 people on the planet..maaan..am already feeling the Thrill.! I know for sure of the 5% of the world's population who are Manchester United fans..i wud be right there among the top! They are life to me!

The Image to d Right ... Well , Just One Word “ AWE-FUCKIN-LEGEN-WAIT-FOR-IT-DARY-SOME !!! ” ... I Know,one day i wud b der along wid another 70000 odd United Fans and Hence wud b living my Dream.

Well,I guess u all r pretty much familiar with INFRARED ? :P ... Remember,To Share nethin v used to put one cell nxt 2 another - It was effin Slow and Painful ... Then Came BLUETOOTH,whch v use now a dayz as a part of our daily lives ... And Now Hold On,coz what i just saw in a Video is Unbelievably Amazing :) ... Itz Known as Android Beam!
